Anderlecht

Lijst 1 PS+Vooruit

Anderlecht is unique because you can find both highly urbanised areas and rural areas. Despite the fact that Anderlecht has the cheapest real estate in the Brussels region on average, affordable housing is also a challenge here. The municipality has therefore supported the construction of new social housing in the municipality.

Anderlecht has a young population, with a large number of children. Anderlecht has the largest range of Dutch-language municipal education and crèches next to Brussels city. Vooruit.brussels has put its shoulder to the wheel for Dutch-language education, which is partly why a new school and a 5th crèche will be added in Anderlecht in 2024.

We continue to work to improve cleanliness, reduce poverty and improve the feeling of safety.

How do we want to improve life in Anderlecht?

  • Accessible and nearby services by providing a municipal antenna in each district with a manager and a team that helps you solve problems such as cleanliness, safety and maintenance of public spaces.
  • Your safety is a priority. We will continue to invest in a strong and visible police force in the districts. We want to work together with community guards and other security services to guarantee your safety.
  • We aim for more clean and green spaces where everyone feels welcome. Where children can play and where community life can flourish. With an alert police force and the necessary prevention services.
  • Because sport brings people together and is important for health, we want the municipality to fully deploy all sports infrastructure. We support our sports clubs and create places where everyone can freely play sports.
  • Because we want artists and cultural associations to be able to fully contribute to the cultural wealth of our municipality, we want to support them extra.
  • We strengthen the operation of our Dutch-language schools, daycare centres, library and our 'houses of the child'. We are working on a fully fledged Dutch-language youth council and good infrastructure. Anderlecht residents who are passionate about Dutch will be given extra opportunities.
  • We will continue to strive for improved Dutch-language services from the municipality.

2. Bieke Comer

After her law studies, Bieke settled in Anderlecht. She loves the city, where everything is close by the local shop, the children's school, meeting the neighbours. Maintaining these advantages of the city, accessible and affordable for everyone, is the challenge. That is why she has committed herself to social housing. First at a local level as a board member of the Anderlechtse Haard and then at a regional level as chair of the BGHM. The same applies to her current political mandate. As alderman for Work and Local Trade, Education, Daycare Centres, Dutch-speaking Culture and Finance in Anderlecht, Bieke is working on a city with pleasant neighbourhoods, where everyone feels at home. By focusing on daycare centres and local schools, she wants to give children a good start, so that they can find their place in our society and also by making Anderlecht even more dynamic with local trade, economy and work.

Safouane is 30 years old and has lived in Anderlecht since he was a child. Luc is a passionate musician. He worked, as a musician and director, on various national and international music projects. In all his projects, he finds it important to bring people together with different backgrounds. In this way, he wants to build a close-knit community in all its diversity. That is why Luc put his shoulder to the wheel for a strong local cultural policy as chairman of the cultural council.

28. Sandra Van Bamis

Sandra was born and raised in Anderlecht and works as a civil servant for the municipality. In her spare time, she enjoys Anderlecht's association life. For her, it is important that these activities can take place in abundance, and that they are open to both seniors and young people. Sandra also finds cleanliness a top priority. For her, it is a collective responsibility, in which everyone must contribute.

34. Magda Geeraerts

Magda retired on her 65th birthday, after a very long career that started at the age of 18. After her retirement, she remained active as a volunteer in many organisations. She thinks it is important that seniors can remain active in their neighbourhood, but for that they have to feel good on the street. Magda therefore wants clean streets and squares, with safe sidewalks and strong public transportation.
