I'm Cem, I received an education in social cultural work and eventually I also found a job in the sector. I live in Molenbeek, where I ride my bike every day. Cycling around in Brussels is one of my favourite leisure activities. On the sports front, I am also an enthusiastic supporter of RWDM.

My commitment

I have always been interested in politics, even though I did not always agree with how some things were done. Until I got to know our deputy in Molenbeek (Jef Van Damme). This was a politician in whom I had confidence and to whom I could directly turn with my concerns about our municipality. Thanks to the enjoyable conversations with him, I decided to make a commitment myself. Because I don't just want to criticise the policy, but actually change it. Because I believe many more people need to make this commitment to realise dreams. Because I believe this is the key to change.

My dream for Brussels

I dream of a Brussels where there is even more room for parents with prams, cyclists, and wheelchair users. Where the streets are cleaner, and people have much more space to play and move around.

If I could change anything about Brussels today, I would want to simplify the complexity and merge the 19 municipalities into one new city-region with one CPAS and one police zone.e negentien gemeenten fuseren tot één nieuw stadsgewest met één OCMW en één politiezone.
