6. Saliha Raïss
As a born and raised resident of Molenbeek, I know it inside out. I have been living in the Quartier Maritime all my life and have been committed to the neighbourhood for many years. First as a member of the local council and more recently as deputy for Public Works, Municipal Property, Dutch-speaking Education and Dutch-speaking Childcare. I also put my heart and soul into the RWDM Girls football club.
"Women empowerment should not just be a slogan but should become a daily reality. I dream of a city where equal opportunities are taken for granted and actively promoted. With education as the jumpstart for opportunities for all."
By promoting inclusive education, where diversity is embraced and appropriate support is provided to all students, we contribute to a society where everyone can thrive and reach their full potential.
In addition, I am committed to affordable housing. Access to affordable and quality housing is a matter of social justice. It ensures that people with different income levels have equal opportunities for living in dignified conditions, regardless of their financial ability.
